The Moat, Donaghadee

Georgian period structure in the form of a mock-Mediaeval castle built upon an Anglo-Norman motte as a gunpowder store for the construction of Donaghadee Harbour in 1821. The Moat was absent from Series 1 of the BBC NI drama "Hope Street", probably because it was under scaffolding at the time. It stands across the street from the public slipway which featured in Episode 1.
